Description

Organic Frankincense Essential Oil – Boswellia Serrata
Frankincense essential oil is often extracted from the gum or resin of frankincense or olibanum trees, whose scientific name is Boswellia Serrata. The primary components of this essential oil are alpine pinene, actanol, bornyl acetate, linalool, octyl acetate, incensol and incensyl acetate.
Boswellia serrata is a plant that produces Indian frankincense referred to in Sanskrit as shallaki and in Latin as Olibanum Indicum. The plant is native to much of India and the Punjab region. Frankincense serrata aroma is rich resinous, pine cone, dry woody, dry pine, with a lemony finish. This aroma sums up the aromatic environment of smelling a pine tree (maybe P. nigra) in the summer, the sunshine warming the tree, and in turn, the tree gives off that robust resinous aroma that saturates the air. Works very well generally within the Mediterranean themed pine bases, pairs especially well with Aleppo pine, add extra belly to amber creations and fits well within citrus and forest accords.

Please check some of the uses/benefits of Frankincense (Boswellia Serrata) Essential Oil:
- Skin Care: Frankincense essential oil is a powerful astringent, meaning it helps protect skin cells. Dabbing Frankincense on fine lines and wrinkles may make them less noticeable. A 50/50 blend with a carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil, sweet almond oil) in a glass roller ball is recommended. You can also add a drop of Frankincense to your daily moisturizer. Be sure to always do a small patch area though first to test for possible allergic reactions.
- Stress management: Apply a drop at the temples to relieve stress and evoke a feeling of calmness. You can also rub a few drops mixed in a carrier oil on the back of the neck when you feel anxious. Something else you can do is simply inhale the aroma of the oil by rubbing a drop or two between the palms of your hands then bringing them up to your nose and taking a deep breath.
- Promote sleep: Diffuse frankincense at bedtime to help relieve tension and promote sleep.
- Natural Room freshener: Frankincense oil is a natural deodorizer. Use it in an essential oil diffuser to help reduce indoor pollution and to deodorize any room.
- Apply frankincense to the bottoms of feet to promote feelings of relaxation and to balance mood.
